Dustin Rhodes, known as Goldust during his time in WWE and now a star in AEW, recently celebrated a major milestone in his life. He took to Twitter to announce that he has now been clean and sober for 15 years. Rhodes had previously opened up about his struggles with cocaine, pills, and alcohol in his book, “Cross Rhodes: Goldust, Out of The Darkness.”
The Road to Recovery
Rhodes acknowledged that the road to recovery was not easy, but he was able to reach this incredible milestone thanks to the programs set in place. He thanked God for the second chance and new lease on life that he was given. Rhodes also made it clear that he chooses to stay clean and sober, one day at a time, and not turn around and take a walk with the devil.
Support from Fellow Wrestlers
Rhodes received a lot of support from his fellow wrestlers and fans. Matt Hardy, a fellow wrestler, congratulated Rhodes on his achievement and called him an inspiration for others who are also fighting this battle. Rhodes’ father, WWE Hall of Famer Dusty Rhodes, and his younger brother, current WWE Superstar Cody Rhodes, also expressed their pride and support for him.
A New Lease on Life
Rhodes’ journey to sobriety serves as a reminder that recovery is possible, even in the face of seemingly insurmountable obstacles. He now has a new lease on life and is in a much better place, both mentally and physically. Rhodes has shown that with perseverance and determination, it is possible to overcome addiction and find a brighter future.
